When covering homework with TS children, any and all homework helpers are welcome. I would often use flashcards and pictures when my TS children were in school. Poster boards are also a great way to lay out a picture story. You can build it together, and in most cases their teacher will be so impressed, they just might let it count as extra credit :-)
When my daughter had a tic that constantly touched the words we were reading, I let her jump and bounce around while I read the information to her. I was amazed at how much she retained when 'set free'.
I have also been thankful most recently for the 'Quizlet' website. Quizlet allows you to compose your review facts in a variety of styles, ranging from flashcards, multiple choice quizzes or audio spelling options, to name a few.
What are your favorite homework helpers? Do you have any special secrets to helping TS Children cope with the struggles homework can bring. Share your voice here or on our Homework Helpers Forum Board. Thank you.
