Everybody has a talent. Talents can bring us much joy, as well as prosperity and self-reliance. When such a talent can also lend relief to a syndrome that has no cure -- then I believe that not only are we are giving our TS children the best, natural treatment available, but we are also creating a catalyst for their future independence.
The birth of "My Tic-ing Talent" was created from looking back at my own experiences as a mother raising a child with TS through to adulthood and noting what would have been helpful to me. The ULTIMATE vision for My Tic-ing Talent is to help TS children find a talent that shows potential to relieve some of the exhausting tic-ing that comes attached with such a syndrome.
While I am aware of a couple camps (Brainy Camp, Camp Twitch and Shout) doing an impressive job at providing opportunities for TS children, I would like to see the future of My Tic-ing Talent offer (or provide support for) specified TS events in the areas of Arts, Athletics and Academics. I believe such offerings could help the TS child explore these areas with deeper emphasis and help expand upon such gifts within them. Events could be presented in the form of camps, conferences and even webinars, taught by professionals.
